I need help coming up with 5 activities that build BICS for second grade EL students.

Wordless books are awesome for this. There are many visually stunning books that students can orally narrate and then discuss. You could provide basic vocabulary to help them tell the story. They can "read" the books to each other in pairs or in whole group. I recommend the picture books by David Wiesner for 2nd grade. The Snowman would be great from K-2 or maybe even older depending on level. The Arrival is also beautiful, and great for stimulating conversation about what immigration is like.
